This is about a relationship that never fully blossomed into a romance as the girl wished. She felt there were clues along the way that the man cared about her in a romantic way. His feelings could have been in response to her feelings of him or perhaps he felt the same. For whatever reason, (to which we can speculate) the almost-romance ends. We get the idea that he may have thought of her only as a friend.





Whether he walks away with these haunting feelings of her we'll never know, but SHE is haunted. It seems that there are memories she shared with him by an ocean and driving at night. For whenever she sees an ocean or drives at night - and wakes in the morning she is haunted by memories of him which she cannot shake.





This is what one can call a bittersweet relationship as she's trying to put her memories of him behind her since the ending of the relationship brought her heartache that doesn't seem to entirely go away.
